My husband and I met online in November of 2000 through a web
community that was started by his brother. I had already become
friends with his brother in August of 2000 and then one day his
brother (my husband) joined. :) We hit it off, right away.
:)
We made plans in December to meet in person. On December
8, 2000, John drove an hour and 50 minutes from his small town in
Missouri to come meet me in my small town in Arkansas. Oddly, I was
not nervous. We planned on meeting in a grocery store parking lot. I
had told him to call me from the payphone when he got into town and
I'd go meet him and have him follow me back. I'm so evil, though,
cuz even though we had seen our pictures I just wanted to make sure
he didn't look creepy. LOL So, I had planned to just keep on driving
if he looked like a crazy loon. ROFL Anyhow, he's just the most
absolute sweetest guy. You could just see the love in his eyes.

When we got to my house, we talked for a bit and I could
tell he was nervous so I asked him if he'd like a hug. He did and he
was no longer nervous. :) That hug seemed to last forever. It just
felt like coming home. Ya know? Wonderful feeling. Of course, idiot
me didn't think much of it at the time. Just that I didn't want to
be without him.
We became friends and then merged into a
girlfriend/boyfriend relationship. :) Then I got stupid. Here I had
this wonderful guy, John, that would travel nearly 2 hours every
Friday night to come see me. He'd stay until Saturday, which
increased to Sunday night. Yet, I thought it wasn't working anymore
or some crazy thought. I can't even remember, now. So, I had told
him that he wouldn't need to come down next weekend. Like we could
have a break or something. I wasn't mean about it but we were both
heartbroken. I felt awful. I couldn't sleep. I missed him...and
realized I was inlove with him. I called him but he was out with his
brother. It took 3 days for us to make contact on the phone. LOL He
was out whenever I had called. And I didn't want to appear pushy so
I'd only call once a day. :o LOL Anyhow, he was so happy to know
that I had called and I confessed to having made a horrible mistake
thinking we weren't right for each other. We couldn't be more
right!!
He came down the following Friday. By the way, we
hadn't missed any time together. Yea!! :D John moved in with me in
April of 2001 (Easter Week). We became engaged in May of 2001 and
set the wedding date for October 2001. :) I have hayfever and didn't
want to be all sneezy and yucky for our wedding. Plus, to make it
extra special...we were married on Sweetest Day!! :) Did I plan that
well or what?? So, technically we have 2 anniversaries every year!!
